Information we process

Contact details, your name, date of birth, address, booking details, and copies of the identity document and driving licence you submit. We also process technical request data and security signals to identify duplicate or abusive submissions. The booking form does not request bank card details.

Purposes and legal grounds

We handle your request, check driver requirements, arrange collection and return, and answer questions to take steps towards a contract and perform the rental (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Security and fraud prevention rely on our legitimate interest in protecting the service (Article 6(1)(f)). Where applicable, we retain information to meet legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)). Acknowledging this policy does not authorise advertising or replace any consent that must be requested separately.

Documents and review

Required fields and requested documents enable us to process the booking and check the driver; without them we may be unable to confirm the rental. Do not send unrelated information or other people's documents. Files are encrypted in private storage and can only be opened through an authorised administrative session. Staff review the files: a rejected document can be replaced from the booking voucher in your customer session. Automated risk signals support this review; staff make the booking confirmation decision.

Retention

Document copies are retained while the request and rental are being handled and for up to two months after completion or cancellation. Necessary contractual records may be kept for applicable statutory periods or while a claim is unresolved. Additional retention is limited to the information needed for that purpose; identity copies are not retained by default for the entire accounting retention period. You can request erasure when information is no longer needed.

Recipients and external services

Authorised CocheRental staff have access, as do hosting and infrastructure providers where necessary to deliver the service and subject to data protection obligations. Authorities or insurers may receive the strictly necessary information where a legal obligation or a rental-related matter requires it. Your documents are not published. If you choose an external messaging or social-network link, that service's terms also apply.

Cookies and Google Ads

The site uses session cookies for bookings and administrative access and a language preference. Google Ads is integrated to measure campaigns and conversions; Google may process technical device, browsing and interaction data under its policy. Processing may involve transfers outside the European Economic Area using the safeguards described by the provider. See Google's policy below. This notice explains processing and does not itself constitute consent to advertising cookies.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and, where applicable, portability. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier processing. Email your request to the contact address; we normally respond within one month, with legally permitted extensions for complex cases. We may proportionately verify your identity to protect your data. You may also complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
